Delamere Street
A major investment of £34m will transform the site of the old Delamere Street bus station plus a section of the Gorsestacks car park into a vibrant new quarter providing homes, offices, retail opportunities and a new public car park.
The redevelopment also includes 25,000 square feet of office space.
The mixed used development scheme on the site of the old Delamere Street bus station and part of the Gorsestacks Car Park has detailed planning permission and construction is due to start Autumn 2007.
What's Being Created?
Spread over thee seperate site the development briefly contains:
Site 1
- 356 underground public car parking spaces accommodated over 2 basement levels for Chester City Council
- 106 private (and segregated from the public parking) residential parking spaces accommodated over 1 basement level
- 7 retail / commercial units at ground floor level
- Public courtyard / circulation area at ground level
- 133 one and two bedroom apartments from first to fifth floors
Site 2
- 2 retail / commercial units at ground level
- 15 private residential parking spaces at ground level
- 25 one and two bedroom apartments from first to fifth floors
Site 3
- 18 private residential parking spaces at undercroft / ground level
- 54 one and two bedroom apartments from ground to fourth floors
What's Happening When?
- The Bus Station has been demolished
- Archaeological excavations to the site have been completed
- The ground breaking ceremony took place at the end of July
- Construction work on the homes begins August 07
- Highways works should cause little disruption
